Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard courts

A resurgent the Russian player won his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a former world number one, has had a difficult season, winning just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - caused him exiting of the top ten and finally splitting with long-time coach Cervara.

Currently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive win over opponent Moutet.

It is the player's initial championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt from that period of that year.

Success also indicates he has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one various tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my children together, so to secure a title is particularly special," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his last six finals, comprising in Halle previously this season.

Medvedev's defensive approach and regular reactions on court had caused commentators to question if his skill to play at the top level was over.

But the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to approach the net and perform assertively, supported by an enhanced service.

He came back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, securing four of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his initial professional victory, gained dominance to force a decider.

Moutet saved four early opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the Russian broke to that score to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner clinched the title with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
