I will dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Former two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

However, the novice is still one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving huge paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
